Guide to
The Format
With a competitive lineup of ten teams and 30 drivers on the grid, the FIA Formula Regional European Championship kicks off at the Austrian venue of the Red Bull Ring, launching an eight-round season, before visiting Zandvoort, Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Hungaroring, Paul Ricard, Imola and Hockenheim.
For each event, one or two 50-minute free practice sessions are scheduled. In each qualifying session, the drivers will be divided into two different groups. On race weekends featuring two races, a 30-minute qualifying session will take place before each race. An additional 30-minute qualifying session will determine the starting grid for the second race.
When scheduled, the grid for the Reverse Grid Race will be determined by reversing the top 12 finishers from the qualifying session, according to the alternating mechanism between the two groups. Each race will last 30 minutes plus one lap.
At the end of the season, three titles will be awarded: Driver's Championship, Team's Championship, and Rookie.
