Race 1 postponed due to adverse weather conditions at Spa

After completing just one lap behind the Safety Car, the opening race of the FIA Formula Regional European Championship weekend at Spa-Francorchamps has been postponed until Saturday afternoon due to adverse weather conditions.

As a consequence, Race 2 - which was set to feature a reversed grid for the top 12 drivers from Qualifying 1 - has been cancelled.

ART Grand Prix’s Alexandre Munoz will therefore retain pole position for this afternoon’s race. The Frenchman will be joined on the front row by Rashid Al Dhaheri (R-ace GP), while PREMA Racing’s Kean Nakamura-Berta and Championship leader Sebastian Wheldon (MP Motorsport) will share the second row of the grid.

Race 1 is now scheduled to get underway at 14:16 CEST and will be streamed live on the official FIA Formula Regional European Championship YouTube channel (@fiaformularegionaleu). The race will also be broadcast by more than 80 broadcasters worldwide, including ACI Sport TV. Where to watch.
