Rashid Al Dhaheri stays on top in Hungaroring collective testing

Rashid Al Dhaheri completed a clean sweep of the opening day of collective testing at the Hungaroring, setting the pace in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Having already emerged as the quickest driver in the opening session, the R-ace GP driver also topped the standings in the afternoon, although his best lap was exactly two tenths slower than the time he had posted earlier in the day.

Al Dhaheri edged out Kean Nakamura-Berta by just 0.072 seconds, after the PREMA Racing driver had occupied the top spot late in the session. Championship leader Sebastian Wheldon (MP Motorsport) set the third-fastest time, only 0.015 seconds adrift of Nakamura-Berta.

Emanuele Olivieri secured fourth place with the second R-ace GP-run Tatuus T-326. CL Motorsport's Reno Francot rounded out the top five, ahead in turn of Zhenrui Chi (MP Motorsport), Saqer Almaosherji (G4 Racing), Francisco Macedo (Van Amersfoort Racing), Yuki Sano (R-ace GP) and Tomass Stolcermanis (PREMA Racing).

Tomorrow's schedule features the two 50-minute Free Practice sessions. On Saturday, the 30 drivers will be split into Groups A and B for Qualifying 1, which is scheduled to get underway at 11:35 CEST. Later in the day, the first of the two races will start at 18:20 CEST and will run over 30 minutes plus one lap. Qualifying 2 is due to begin at 08:30 CEST on Sunday morning, while Race 2 will get underway at 15:55 CEST.

The two races from the Hungaroring will be broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide, including on ACI Sport TV. In addition, both qualifying sessions and the races will be available via live streaming on the championship's official YouTube channel, @fiaformularegionaleu.
