Saeter disqualified from Imola Qualifying 1 as Wheldon moves onto the front row

The result of Qualifying 1 at Imola for the FIA Formula Regional European Championship has been amended. G4 Racing’s Norwegian driver Marcus Saeter, who had set the second-fastest time in the Group B session, was disqualified following a technical infringement involving his car’s front wing and will start from the back of the grid.

Tomass Stolcermanis, who topped Group A in the leading PREMA Racing entry, will serve a three-place grid penalty carried over from the opening race at Zandvoort and will start from the third row. His team-mate Kean Nakamura-Berta, who qualified seventh in Group A, will receive a five-place grid penalty, also as a result of an incident in the first Zandvoort race.

MP Motorsport’s Sebastian Wheldon has therefore been promoted to second in Group B and will start Race 1 from the front row alongside R-ace GP pole-sitter Emanuele Olivieri, with ART Grand Prix duo Alexandre Munoz and Mattéo Giaccardi lining up on the second row.
